We require a mandatory donation for all of our adoptions. This helps offset the cost of rescue and rehabilitation, and allows us to save more lives.

We’re staffed entirely by volunteers. We have no paid employees and minimal overhead costs. Because of this, 99-cents of every dollar we receive goes directly towards helping our dogs.

How does PAWS set the donation amount?

Our philosophy is that all dogs deserve a safe and loving home.

A young, healthy dog does not cost us much to rescue, but will get adopted quickly and easily. An older dog who has been poorly treated can easily require more than a thousand dollars in veterinary care and months of rehabilitation, but it may take quite a while before he or she is adopted.

Our mandatory adoption donation helps us save as many dogs as we can – even the ones with a few extra miles on them.
